Rockwood Nursery School is celebrating over 50 years of operation in our community! We proudly serve the town of Rockwood, Guelph Eramosa East, Acton and beyond. We offer a large, bright and spacious setting for our nursery school programs. The Rockwood Nursery School (RNS) offers preschool and nursery school classes for children aged 18 months to 4 years.

As a non profit cooperative, we take pride in parental involvement, as it is a necessity for the continuation of our programs. Parents are required to volunteer as part of one of the many committees that make our school run. The school has an elected Board of Directors, consisting of parents who meet monthly with the teachers to handle the business of running the school. If you currently have a child enrolled at the school and would like to be part of the board, please email rockwoodnursery@gmail.com. Elections are held at the Annual General Meeting each May.

Our Philosphy

We offer a fun, safe, nurturing and caring environment in which children are encouraged to develop their potential. Staff and parents work together to offer a stimulating setting for children to increase their sense of self-worth, with the following results:

  • A dynamic figure within the community , Nicki has been teaching for over 35 years with Rockwood Nursery School. Always smiling and ever patient, Nicki is described by her peers and students as loving, fun, kind and caring. She is not just popular with our kids; she is a staple member of the community. She is a skating enthusiast, Pickle ball player, master knitter, fundraising guru, grandmother extraordinaire, a birthday month lover, and the best lollipop tree discoverer in Wellington County!

  • Victoria Caulfeild has been teaching at Rockwood Nursery School for over 15 years. She is known for always smiling and is up for any challenge. She is meticulously organized, and her attention to detail allows her to take each students unique personality and create opportunities for them to flourish. In her spare time, Victoria enjoys hiking, cycling, kayaking, yoga and reading. In addition, she also enjoys supporting our local Lions Club with their Santa Home Visits. She is a wonderful teacher and we are lucky to have her at the school!

  • Krista has been teaching little ones at Rockwood Nursery School for 4 years now! Krista has always had a love for children and passion for teaching, she has been and continues to coach skating. Krista always has a smile on her face and is ready to play trucks, tea party or read anytime! In her free time Krista enjoys spending time with her own children, walking her dog, snowmobiling, baking as well as cooking and skating.

  • Ashley is the newest member of our teaching team and brings a passion and dedication to the education of young children. She is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where every child feels valued and supported. Outside the classroom, Ashley loves to unwind by reading, crafting, scrapbooking, dancing and spending quality time with her two children.

GREAT SPACE WITH QUALIFIED TEACHERS

E.C.E. and Montessori educated and experienced teachers (excellent ratios) providing high quality programming in a bright, open and large space with a welcoming and safe environment.

PRACTICAL LEARNING

Licensed programs for toddlers (18- 36 months, diaper friendly), and Preschool aged children. Multiple learning centers and weekly themes to capture kids’ imaginations. Circle time, story time, free play, crafts, nutritional snacks and physically active daily play.

PARENTS WELCOME

Low tuition fees due to our cooperative program with many opportunities for parental involvement.

REGULAR EVENTS

Regular field trips for the students as well as many family friendly events throughout the year.

This class is geared for children turning 3 in the enrollment year. The class is run with two certified ECE teachers.

This class is for children that are 18 months old as of the September of enrollment. The class is run with two certified ECE teachers and an assistant.
